For the launching of our new Web site, COGERNO wishes to lay emphasis on the recycling programs available and thus encourage people to reduce their waste production at home as well as in the work place.

A special edition of the on-line contest will be available during 3 consecutive months starting December 1^st, 2011. The first draw will take place on January 9, 2012, the second, on February 1^st and the third, on March 1^st.

Here are the prizes that will be drawn on each occasion:

1^st prize: Refurbished laptop from Resnet (IBM Lenovo – 15.4’')

2^nd prize: GV snowshoes (Made in Canada)

3^rd prize: iPod Touch (8 GB)

At the end of the contest, the regular draw for an iPod Touch will be done 4 times a year, that is on March 1^st, June 1^st, September 1^st and December 1^st.

ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEES IN ACTION!

On Thursday November 17^th, leads of School District 3 environment committees met at the ‘little’ school in Rivière-Verte. The object of this meeting, organized by the COGERNO in collaboration with the School District 3, was to take stock of waste management and recycling in our schools. A visit of the landfill site ended this very busy and quite interesting day.

At the end of the day, the organizers were able to witness the schools’ implication in recycling programs, and this mostly due to the continuous daily efforts of committee leads, students, directors and all support staff. Their wish to make a difference for the environment prompts them to guide and encourage the students who join the school’s environment committee. It is in this manner that together, partners and allies perform concrete acts to protect the environment, because each gesture counts!
